As Instar Holistic Health, the aim is to offer an integrated, person centred approach to structural physical bodywork massage, energy work, sound and vibrational therapies, yoga, qi gong, natural movement and meditation

One to one holistic massage treatments and Yoga instruction

Working from various clinics in the Midlands, sessions can be beneficial for anxiety issues, depression, grief, anger and other similar emotional upsets; helping to restore a sense of well-being, relaxation and ease - as well as offering methods to focus on certain physical ailments, structural and muscular problems and injuries.

Essentially the treatments work to balance the whole system and are tailored uniquely to individual requirements. In addition to treatments suggestions for simple lifestyle and nutritional adjustments are offered, along with a personal programme of appropriate exercise/self healing practice if required.

Group Yoga Workshops, Soundbaths, Courses and Classes

Regular courses are run teaching Reiki and the basic 5-Element energy model for self-healing/personal/spiritual development.

This can lead to a professional qualification for those that want to deepen their study and practice in order to share their skills and treat others

Do you run workshops and retreats?

Instar also offers group soundbath relaxation sessions, yoga classes and workshops, retreats and talks, music and sonic art / soundscape / performances and interactive art and creativity sessions, all over the UK.

Training

Initially studying the Five Elements system through an interest in East Asian Martial Arts over 20 years ago, this foundation has continued to be an inspiring model for learning more about the body in clinical practice but also using it to understand the world around us generally and how nature's cycles and basic elements permeate through all things. This interest in 'energy anatomy' first led to training as a Reiki practitioner in 2003 and teacher in 2006.

As a lifelong enthusiast of exploring all things musical; particularly woodwind, guitars and percussion - further study led to discovering the profoundly transformational effects of sound and vibration with the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST, 2005-7). Learning to use quartz crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, gongs and voice therapeutically in a clinical setting and in group workshops - as well as experimenting with various collaborators on musical projects inspired by the meditational effects of these unique instruments.

Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training followed in 2007 as well as qualifying as an Ayurvedic Technician, which led to working at residential clinics in the UK and abroad offering Panchakarma detox programmes, (Ayurveda UK, 2006-10).

In recent years additional training has included foundation level Shiatsu and Macrobiotics, (Devon and Ealing Schools of Shiatsu 2013-14) and KCR (Kinetic Chain Release - Ireland 2017), a physiotherapy based joint freeing system.
